ALCHEMY
Classical Alchemy refers to the process of changing ordinary metal into gold. At the Studio, alchemy describes an inner transformation as well as everyday materials finding new life in artworks. "Creative expression is an exciting healing modality,” claims Renee Bures, MSW, Art Therapist and Executive Director.
Remember Dr. Norman Cousins, the Laughter is the Best Medicine guru and Dr. Patch Adams, the physician clown? They knew that a lighthearted perspective had healing powers. “We take the therapeutic arts process very seriously,” says Bures, who serves individuals with special needs, physical or mental health challenges, and those moving through stressful life transitions.
“However, while it’s powerful to heal through art expression, it can also be refreshing and fun!"
